MuffyPaw

Child Safety Standards

MuffyPaw has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Anything that sexualises, exploits, grooms or endangers a child is removed, the account is permanently banned, and we report it to the authorities.

1. Who MuffyPaw is for

MuffyPaw is a community for pet owners: pet profiles, a photo and video feed, chat between owners, pet services and a pet supply shop. It is for people 18 years and older. Accounts we find to belong to a minor are closed.

2. What is not allowed

Anywhere on MuffyPaw, in the app or on this website:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, edited or AI-generated material.
  • Sexualised images, videos, comments or messages involving anyone under 18.
  • Grooming: contacting, befriending or manipulating a minor for sexual purposes, or trying to meet a minor.
  • Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of a minor.
  • Trafficking, or offering or asking for access to children.
  • Sharing links to, advertising or asking for any of the above.

3. How we prevent it and act on it

  • Reporting everywhere: profiles, pets, posts, comments, chats, businesses and reviews all have a Report option with a Child safety reason. The app also has a "Report a child safety concern" form under Profile → Safety & reporting.
  • Priority review: child safety reports go to the top of our moderation queue and are reviewed by a person as quickly as possible, normally within 24 hours.
  • Removal and bans: violating content is taken down and the account is permanently suspended and signed out on every device.
  • Blocking: anyone can block another person, which stops messages, follows and seeing each other's posts in both directions.
  • Evidence: when we find CSAM we keep the evidence securely, as the law requires, and share it only with the authorities.

4. Reporting to the authorities

We comply with all applicable child protection laws, including the Philippine Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act, Republic Act No. 11930. We report child sexual abuse material and exploitation we find on MuffyPaw to the relevant national authorities in the Philippines and, where applicable, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other regional authorities, and we cooperate with law enforcement.

5. How to report a concern

  • In the app or on the website: open the ⋯ menu on the profile, post, comment or chat and choose Report → Child safety. In the app you can also use Profile → Safety & reporting → Report a child safety concern.
  • By email: bryangiray@gmail.com.
  • If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number or the police first.
  • You can also report child sexual abuse material online to NCMEC's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

Please don't download, screenshot or forward abusive material, even to report it. Tell us where it is and we will handle it.

6. Child safety contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety and CSAM prevention is bryangiray@gmail.com. This contact can speak about our practices and compliance and responds to law enforcement and regulators.
